James Build and Grow Project

This is a project that my son did at the Lowe's home improvement store for their build and grow clinic. It is a pirate ship and on the front is the badge that he earns by completing each project. I will be sewing it on his work apron as soon as I can.

In The Hospital

Well, it finally happened. I got so sick that I had to go to the hospital. Here is how it went. I went to the ER on Tuesday evening and they did nothing. Called my doctor first thing on Wednesday and he said for me to go back to the ER and stay and let them figure out what is wrong with me. So I went, they did a chest xray on Tues night, then on Wednesday they did an EKG and an ultrasound of my abdomen which included my stomach, gall bladder, right kidney, liver, and pancreas. They really did not find much but I was having a hard time breathing. So they sent me home.

Well then comes Thursday, I had an appt with my doctor to follow up from the ER. He did not like what he was hearing from me. He was worried that my trouble breathing and my chest hurting was a sign of a blood clot. So off to the hospital to get checked in for observation. I was not there 10 min and they were doing all sorts of stuff...blood work, telemetry (where they have you hooked to a machine to monitor your heart), another chest xray. Then they wanted to do an ultrasound of both my legs. That hurt. They press down in different areas so they could get a good picture of what was going on. Then I had an MRI of my abdomen. Not fun. I can not do closed spaces since I have been sick with my bipolar condition. So I am trying to make it thru the test and not have to quit so they do not have to start over again....and I had a medicine to relax me and that did not work either.

Then back to my room to do more stuff. They wanted me on breathing treatments every 4 hours and check my blood sugar every 4 hours also since it can go low. They also did an ABG, that stand for arterial blood gas...NOT FUN!! That stinkin' hurt. They go into an artery, not a vein and get blood from there so they can test different things for that. OUCH!! And it still hurts right now. They hooked me up to an IV and that was about it for the day.

Then today...did not do much except tell me that I have a bad case of bronchitis. That does not explain all my symptoms, but it may account for my breathing and chest hurting.

I am home right now. I have been for the past about 5 hours. I am not feeling better right now. Actually I felt worse when I got home but I am feeling not as bad as I did earlier. I can sit up straight now rather than earlier when I could not.

That is about it for me right now...going to bed....til next time.

Lunch

After spending about 2 weeks in the house sick and not being able to really go anywhere, today seemed like a good day to see if I could make it going to lunch with friends. And I made it!! We ate lunch at my favorite place-the Japanese restaurant. This is a restaurant that I have been to several times and has quickly become my favorite place to eat. I went with several friends from church and we had a great time. The food was wonderful and so was the company. It was about half and half with who had been to a Japanese restaurant before and who had not. So, the lady that I sat beside had not been to one before and she really enjoyed it. She was very impressed with the taste of the food and the show that the chef put on while preparing the food. Everybody left with their belly full and a smile on their face from the enjoyment of friends who love the Lord.

We try to eat out at least once a month at different places in town. Next month we may do something a little different. One of the ladies runs a spa business out of her home and also does mobile spa treatments at your home. So it was suggested that we may bring our own salads and do a spa treatment that day. That idea went over well with the group of ladies that were there. So, depending on what happens over the next few weeks, we may do that as long as it is possible.

That is about all for now, 'til next time...

Not Having Fun

At all. Nope, nada. It is after 1 am and I am up trying my best not to be sick. I have already taken phenergren (meds for nausea) and I also tried eating an ice pop. Just feeling plain sick to my stomach. Gosh, this is how it just about started when I got sick about a week ago. I hope I am not getting sick again with my sugar going low and the vitamin B12 deficiency.

Oh well, I am going to try to focus on something else...crafty maybe or I just might organize something to get my mind off this.

Doctor Visit

My doctor's office is open on Saturdays, so since I woke up feeling pretty bad on Saturday, I decided that I would call them and see if there was an appt available-and there was. So, went to the doctor and they did a few things and checked a couple of things and the doctor thinks that my blood sugar is going low again and that I have a vitamin B12 deficiency. That would explain a lot of my problems. So, he wants me to change my diet and my eating habits by eating every 2 hours, start off with a good breakfast first thing in the morning, then 2 hours later a morning snack, then 2 hours later should be lunch, then 2 hours later would be an afternoon snack and so on. I did that yesterday and I felt like all I did was eat all day. You see, I do not eat a lot to start with. I normally eat about 1/4 to 1/2 portions compared to what is called for in the recipe. I just do not eat a lot. So, this morning I woke up and did not feel great, so I ate a little while ago. I am hoping that just changing my diet will help me out and that I will feel better very soon.

Not Feeling Great

Hey all, I just wanted to check in since I have not done so in a couple of days. I have been having a problem with the heat. It is making me sick. I get the least bit hot, then I get a stomach problem. I feel like I am going to be sick. I try drinking a lot of liquids to put something in my tummy, and that only helps just a little.

I am going to call my mother-in-law over after I get done typing this so that she can get on over here to help me out with my son who is not understanding this whole feeling lousy thing. He has already tested me by making me use the air pump to get his bouncy ball that he bounces on more air. Gosh, that took a lot out of me.

Oh well, off to sit in front of the fan and imagine that I am on the beach where the wind is always blowing a steady cool breeze. Talk to you all later.

I Hope It Does Not Bother You....

but I have added my blog address to my pictures that I am posting to this site. I hope that it does not deter anybody from reading my blog, I just want to make sure that my pictures stay my pictures. I have read from others that there are some people out there that will take pictures off of blogs and pass them off as their own. I am not that kind of person, nor do I want those kinds of people taking advantage of my pictures. So, that is why my blog address is on my pictures. I do not mind at all if you want to link my pictures to your site if you find something that you like. Just make sure that you do not take the credit for the picture.

I am only doing this as a precautional measure. I just want to be on the safe side. Thanks for looking and I hope that you enjoy what you read and see.

Christmas In The Summer, Part 3

Here is card number 3 for my Christmas list this year.

This is a Criss Cross Card and I found the directions at the splitcoaststampers website.

Christmas In The Summer, Part 2

Here is card number 2 that I am using for my Christmas cards this year. I am sorry that the picture is off-color. I am still learning all this digital stuff and also learning how to retouch photos. But, you get the idea of what the picture is anyway.

This card is called a Joy Fold Card and I found the directions at the splitcoaststampers website.

Christmas In The Summer, Part 1

Since I am so new to paper crafting and also since I have decided that I want to send out my homemade Christmas cards this year, I thought that it would be a good idea to get started on my cards now rather than waiting until the last minute.

Here is a card that I found from the splitcoaststampers website that is called a Pocket Card:

Graduating From Pre-Kindergarden

This is the graduation picture of my son wearing his cap and gown for pre-kindergarden. He just looks so grown up.

Layout Of Our Son

Here is a layout that I did using my cricut. The pictures were taken on 10-23-05 just after our son turned 2 years old. He had on this camo hat and I could not resist taking some pictures of him. I know that this is an old picture, just keep in mind that I did not start doing scrapbooking and cardmaking until November 2008. So, I am a little behind in doing the scrapbooks, but that is ok with me.

Introductions Please

Here I go. I am not going to use my last name, and other specifics, so here is a simple introduction to my family. I am Michelle, my husband is Steven, and my son is James. We have one dog, Peanut, and several fish.

I have been married for almost 11 years. We are faithful members to a local Church of Christ in our area.

Our son is 5 1/2 years old and just graduated from pre-kindergarden. He is excited about going to the next grade level and did not want to be out of school for the summer. We have been slowly letting him learn how to use the computer. We bought him a Playstation 2 a couple of weeks ago and he loves it. He has really gotten the hang of it and is really beating the games that we got him. ***Yes, we limit his time on it so that he does not become a couch potato.***

My husband drives a truck for a delivery company near where we live and they deliver construction equipment and other things. He likes to work on fast and obnoxiously loud things like motorcycles and cars. Right now he is working on an older model Ford Mustang, I do not know the year, that is stupid loud. Every time he cranks it up to test it out, our dog, Peanut, starts barking at the door. While our son is covering his ears because of the dog and the loud car.

I am a stay at home mom who is also disabled. I have several different things that are wrong with me and that is why I am not able to work at this time. I have what is called spinal stenosis. That is where the bones that encase the spinal cord are not correctly formed. They were like that from birth. My whole spinal column is messed up. The only way to fix it is to do surgery and that is not going to happen right now. I also have fibromyalgia. I have a mental disease also called bipolar disorder. The combination of all these problems makes it very hard to complete my days. I have a good support system in place for times that I am not able to take care of my son.

That is about it for the introductions. Now I am off to start blogging.

What, Me, Blogging????

Ok, after seeing others blogging and showing off what they are doing, I decided to do the same. So this will be about my life and the crafts that I do. I am not sure if I am going to like it, so this will be a learning experience for me. As long as I am enjoying this, I will keep it up. So, sit back, relax and enjoy reading about what goes on in my life and seeing the crafts that I create.
